"THE OSCARS OF IOWA DRAG"

In 2021 our founder Chanelle Rosé set out on a mission to honor and recognize the thriving drag scene in the state of Iowa. Starting small she created the East Village Drag Awards. After seeing the overflowing interest from outside communities within the state she rebranded in 2022 to the Iowa Drag Awards.

After packing the house at a local gay bar, Chanelle knew an event of this size needed an upgraded venue and a team to help her improve the experience, in early 2023, Chanelle partnered with Drag King DSM, and Eleven Eleven Productions to produce an event that would almost triple in size. Thus earning the nickname, "The Oscars of Iowa Drag".
