Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was a show that had an emphasis of inclusiveness, kindness, understanding and support for our community. His famous song always ended with, "Won't you be my neighbor?!" 

 

Iowa Drag Awards wanted to come up with a small, catchy giving campaign to help us grow the celebration of Iowa's Best of Drag every year and we thought, "Won't you be our Neighbor?! This is when the  Gayborhood was born - a vibrant community of people and small businesses dedicated to supporting and sponsoring the Iowa Drag Awards. In the heart of Des Moines, from East Village to Western Gateway Park, from Drake to Valley Junction, from the banks of the mighty Mississippi to the original capital of Iowa, neighbors statewide are coming together to celebrate and uplift our local drag community.
